Most of us need a little caffeine to get up and go each day. If you fancy yourself an espresso lover you’ve probably tried your fair share of at home lattes. Here are three more ultra delicious recipes you can make at home that are definitely worth a try.

1) Lavender Latte
For this herbaceous lavender latte from Roasty Coffee you will need to make a lavender simple syrup. It sounds harder than it really is. For the simple syrup you will need:

  • ¼ cup dried lavender
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup white sugar

Add water and lavender to a small saucepan and bring it to a rolling boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool completely. Once your lavender is cooled you will need to separate the buds from the water using a mesh strainer.

In another saucepan combine your sugar with 2 or 3 tablespoons of the lavender water. You just need enough to wet the sugar. Then bring it to a boil, reduce heat and let simmer for 4 minutes. Whisk occasionally. Wisk the lavender water into the sugar mixture and store in the refrigerator.

Warm and froth your milk either with the frother attachment on your espresso machine or using a pan and a milk frother and make your espresso shots.

Add your shots, your desired amount of lavender syrup and your frothed milk to your cup. Voila! You have a lavender latte.
